Rotary Calciner’s Multipurpose Use

After more than ten years of development, the lime rotary kiln has played a greater role in environmental protection and has a broader development prospect. In terms of environmental protection in recent years, the use of lime rotary kiln for incineration of hazardous waste and industrial waste can not only reduce and harmless hazardous waste and garbage but also recycle industrial waste as fuel, effectively saving coal powder.

The rotary incineration kiln body is a cylindrical drum using refractory bricks or water-cooled fireplace walls. In order to achieve complete waste incineration, a second combustion chamber is generally provided. In addition to calcining active lime, lime rotary kiln can also be used for calcining clay, cement and slag drying. In the production of refractory materials, the use of lime rotary kiln for calcination raw materials can make its size more stable, its strength greatly increased, and it can be better processed. In the metallurgical refining of nonferrous and ferrous metals, metals such as iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, tin, nickel, tungsten, chromium, and files can be smelted with a lime rotary kiln to sinter ores, concentrates, and intermediates. For example, in the aluminum production and processing, the lime rotary kiln is used to roast aluminum hydroxide into alumina. In the ironmaking process, the lime rotary kiln is used to produce pellets for blast furnace ironmaking. Nowadays, it is used in foreign SL / RN and Krupp methods. The lime rotary kiln is used to reduce iron ore, and the lime rotary kiln is used to extract tin and lead in a chlorinated volatilization roasting process. In the ore dressing, the lime rotary kiln is used to magnetize and roast the lean iron ore, so that the weak magnetism of the ore becomes strong magnetism, which is conducive to magnetic separation.


In the chemical industry, the use of lime rotary kiln to produce soda, calcined phosphate fertilizer, barium sulfide, etc. has low energy consumption, low electricity consumption, and does not use sulfuric acid. It can use low- and medium-grade phosphate ore, so this method is quickly popularized.

Chemical rotary kiln is mainly used for calcining chemical clinker. It is divided into two types: dry production chemical kiln and wet production chemical kiln. The chemical rotary kiln is mainly used for the magnetic roasting of lean iron ore in iron and steel plants of the metallurgical industry; the oxidative roasting of chromium and nickel-iron ore; the refractory plant roasts high alumina vanadium ore and the aluminum plant roasts clinker and aluminum hydroxide and chrome minerals.
