It consists of three drums of varying diameters nested together, forming three drying chambers: an inner layer, a middle layer, and an outer layer. Unlike single pass drum dryers, triple pass dryers do not require to be set on a sloped base or rely on gravity to move materials. Instead, they rely on pneumatic conveying within the drums to loosen materials to specified positions. During operation, the material and hot airflow sequentially pass through the inner to outer drums. Then, they undergo a zigzag flow pattern within the dryer body, effectively utilizing heat energy to dry the material before being discharged.

The drum of the triple pass dryer is composed of three coaxially arranged inner, middle, and outer drums, making full use of the space within the drum cross-section. Overall, the length of the drum body is approximately 30-35% of that of a single-pass drum dryer, significantly reducing the footprint and factory building area.

The support device of the three drum dryer combines the wheel belt on the outer drum with the support roller, driven directly by the motor. The rotation of the drum is achieved through friction between the support roller and the wheel belt. The overall structure is compact, rational, and simple, featuring an axially split design for easy inspection and replacement of worn parts, secured with bolt connections.

The triple pass rotary drum dryer is capable of drying block materials, granular materials, and powdery materials below 20-40mm. The drum is made of wear-resistant manganese plate, which is 3-4 times more durable than ordinary steel plate, effectively extending the service life of the dryer.

The material first enters the inner layer of the triple pass drum dryer through the feeding device. In the inner layer, the material is continuously lifted and scattered by the lifting boards, spiraling forward to facilitate heat exchange. Subsequently, the material enters the middle layer for countercurrent drying. It is repeatedly lifted and gradually moved forward in a two-step-forward-one-step manner. In the middle layer, the material fully absorbs the heat released by the inner drum and middle drum, while also extending the drying time to achieve the desired dryness. Then, the material falls from one end of the middle layer into the outer layer, where it moves in a rectangular multi-circuit manner to achieve drying. The dried material is swiftly discharged from the drum under the action of hot air, while the wet material, due to its weight, cannot move quickly and undergoes thorough drying within the rectangular lifting boards of the outer layer, thus achieving the purpose of drying.
